Effects of the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic on the incidence of surgically treated fractures in Sao Paulo city

Objective: Evaluate the effect of SARS-CoV-2 pandemic in two years since it started. Methods: Retrospective study to analyze complex structured data set high volume and variability (Big Data) publicly available on TabNet platform (DATASUS) through artificial intelligence software. The results foot ankle fractures, all lower limb body fractures were analyzed comparatively from 2018-2019 2020-2021. Result: isolated fibula fracture suffered greatest decrease 2020, malleolar presented highest increase this period. All showed an 2021 compared 2020. Except for distal tibial articular talar length hospital stay decreased other fracture, remaining up 36% fewer days hospitalized. Conclusion: COVID-19 initially incidence surgically treated most patterns, but was not maintained second year pandemic. these patients 2018-2019.
